Our National Program

WHAT IS THE PROGRAM ABOUT?

The NATIONAL program is for athletes and their family looking to play the game at the highest of levels for 8 to 9 months. Our national program is designed for the athlete that wishes to eventually play at the collegiate level, not to be confused with NCAA Division I, but all collegiate levels. National teams practice 2-3 times per week and compete in 2-day and 3-day tournaments against the highest level of competition. The training and tournament schedule  gives a national team player the opportunity to excel within the sport. Teams will have one head coach as well as one lead trainer and train under our Master Coaching system.

WHAT AGE GROUPS PLAY AT THIS LEVEL?

Our national program is for 13U to 18U players.

What's New For Our National Program

  • *NEW* Recruiting Coordinator

With a new partnership with Next Top Recruits, national players now have access to a recruiting coordinator. Ken Carlyle, owner of Next Top Recruits, sole purpose is to help  our players with their volleyball recruiting process. Ken Carlyle will be engaged in the gym at practices but will not have any head coaching responsibilities. This will allow him to engage directly with our athletes and collegiate coaches at events.

  • *NEW* 2 - 3 National Teams per Age Group

National teams are not just for the "NCAA Division I" players. Our national program is for athletes willing to commit to a 7 to 8 month season to  grow in their game (skill and IQ), compete against high caliber competition, and might have goals to play volleyball at the next level, regardless of what collegiate level. By offering multiple teams at the national level, we are giving athletes the tools, resources and opportunity to train at the highest level

  • *NEW* 2 - 3 Practices per Week

National teams typically practice on 3 days of the week. This season, national teams practice on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for 2 hours of court training and 30 minutes of strength and conditioning . Athletes will receiving the following each week:

  • Individual Positional Training
  • Individual Strength and Conditioning (age specific)
  • Team Training and Competition
  • Mental, Social, and Leadership Training

  • *NEW* Individual/ Group Training Model

We acknowledge that volleyball is a team sport. However, we believe that if we train the athlete first, our teams will be deeper and more well rounded. With a combination of individual training and team training, we will maximize both individual and team growth.

Piedmont VBC is  incredibly blessed to have not one, but two phenomenal facilities that we call home. At the Greensboro Sportsplex, we have up to 7 volleyball courts and at Proehlific Park up to 3 courts. By having these spaces, we have the flexibility to create the best training environment, and not jam a bunch of teams on top of each other. We are able to provide every team with individual court time; coaches are able to work with players on specific individual and team skills.
